Walking Football

Walking Football

LOVE Football? Want to stay Active?

Walking Football, a slower version of the beautiful game!

Walking Football is exactly as the name suggests - you play football, walking. Usually aimed at people over 50 but open to everyone, this inclusive, fun and sociable small sided version of the game is slow-paced but lacks none of the passion or excitement of the original game.

Whether you're looking to keep active, stay fit, or simply want to play for the love of the game, Walking Football offers the perfect opportunity to take to the pitch.

As well as the health benefits associated with most forms of physical activity; keeping fit and active, weight loss etc. there are also many social health benefits that come with playing Walking Football.

Taking time to socialise, meet new people or even build confidence are all part and parcel of taking part in this slower version of the beautiful game.

There are a number of sessions taking place across Dorset delivered by a mix of clubs, leisure centres and community groups. Watch the video below of Wimborne Town Walking Football who have embraced walking football as a way of enjoying the game.

The Dorset Walking Football League offers our 50's and over 60's divisions for clubs across Dorset and beyond. New teams are welcome to join the league. For more details please contact Justine Mosley Justine.Mosley@dorsetfa.com

How to get Involved

We have created a guide to help those looking to set-up a new adult football team. The guide includes helpful information from setting up the team to increasing awareness; so should you be setting up a team in a brand new club or if you are an established club introducing a new adult team we hope you find the guide of use.
