This month’s 9-a-side event took place on Sunday 19th November with teams battling it out to become the second winners of the Powerplay 9-a-side Cup! 

Played across half of the full-size pitch at the County Ground, this unique format allows players to compete in a different format to the standard 11-a-side game and on a more flexible basis. 

It was M City who took home the trophy at the end of the night. Having lost 3-0 to Polonia in the first match of the night, they defeated them in the final by a goal to nil with a penalty eventually deciding the game. A stunning achievement considering some of the players on the team hadn’t played with each other before! 

Teams from Powerplay’s small sided football leagues across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch were invited, alongside teams who don’t play regularly and another team made up of individual players not currently involved with a team locally. 

The event runs every month so whether you have a team or would like to be part of one, why not get involved? The next date is Sunday 10th December, before the event returns in 2024.
