Dorset FA are delighted to announce this years FA and McDonalds Grassroots Award winners
The FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards are for people who make a positive difference. It’s The FA’s way to celebrate the fantastic individuals who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across England – and say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who inspire us all.
This season our grassroots volunteers have adapted to the ever-changing Coronavirus pandemic. They responded quickly to make football happen when they could. And when they couldn’t play, they kept players, volunteers and the wider community connected off the pitch.
After receiving numerous nominations across the different categories, an awards panel was brought together to select the winners for each award. With a considerable number of nominations submitted this year, it was fantastic to see the great work volunteers have completed over the last season given all the challenges the pandemic produced.
We can now reveal the county winners of each category:
Coach of the Year Adult:
Kevin Tipper – Headway Walking Football
Coach of the Year Youth:
Paul Tapper – Weymouth FC
Grounds Team of the Year:
Geoff Franklin – Portland United Youth
Rising Star of the Year:
