Club & league welfare officers conference

Wednesday 5th June 2019 at 7pm

Venue - Dorset County FA, Blandford Close, Hamworthy, Poole, BH15 4BF

Dorset County FA are pleased to announce that we will be hosting our first Club and League Welfare Officers Conference in June!

On the evening the following key speakers have been invited to present on Safeguarding issues that we are sure you will find informative in your role within football.

Mr Chris Lay – Mental Health and Wellbeing speaker.

David Corbin - Equality and Diversity Manager at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust

Mark Derrien – Team Manager Social Work, Child in Care Team, Dorset County Council

The evening is also open to Club and League assistant Welfare Officers, Secretaries and any representatives that would benefit from attending the Conference.

In order that we can accommodate those that wish to attend please complete the Expression of Interest pro forma below and return to Natalie.Wood@dorsetfa.com as soon as possible so that we can begin to collate numbers.

Expression of Interest Form

The Dorset County FA would also like to run another FA Welfare Officer Workshop as we are aware that clubs may have new Welfare Officers or assistants in place. In order to do this we need to have sufficient numbers to appoint a tutor to run the course. The Expression of Interest pro forma also has a box to tick if you feel that this is something that your club is interested in.

For those Welfare officers that are new in post and have attended the necessary Safeguarding and Welfare Officer Workshops the information below confirms the steps you will need to take to be able to verify documents through GBG Disclosures.

You will need to email FAChecks@TheFA.com  and provide them with the following information:

  • Full name
  • FA Number (FAN)
  • Address
  • Club Affiliation Number

You will then be issued with an Organisation PIN and Password.

We look forward to seeing you at our Welfare Officer Conference in June and we will be back in touch with further details nearer the time.
