FA Futsal Youth Cup – Boys’ Round 1

The opening round of Dorset FA’s qualifying series for the FA Futsal Youth Cup took place on Saturday 15^th December at Clayesmore Sports Centre.  The event was well attended, with teams from across the county making the journey to take part.

In the Under 10 Boys category, six teams competed against each other, with every one of them managing to score a number of goals and claim some points.  A similar situation existed for the five Under 12 Boys’ teams taking part in the afternoon, where only two points separated 2^nd and 5^th at the end of the day.

There were some outstanding displays, with teams showing some fantastic examples of flowing passing that involved every player; strikes from just inside the attacking half that flew in off the bar; and successions of 1-v-1 saves that managed to keep the ball out of the net against all the odds. 

A huge thank you to Clayesmore Sports Centre for the use of their wonderful facility and to all the players, coaches and parents who turned up to support the event.  If that was the standard of futsal that exists within Dorset, then we can’t wait to see what Round 2 has to offer in January!
