Phoenix Youth FC are hosting a free Mental Health Awareness Seminar for Grassroots Youth Coaches at The Hamworthy Club (BH21 3AP) on Thursday 30th May 2024 from 6.30pm.

With Emma Tomes of Dorset Mind speaking from 7.00pm, this event has been organised for grassroots coaches to help support each other with mental health issues within the game.

Phoenix Youth commented: "We see all the support players and staff get in the professional game, and more recently the support that grassroots players get, but there is nothing out there for the people who have no experience of working with children and have volunteered their time to ensure kids get to play football, but suffer from the stresses and strains of ensuring everything goes smoothly and that the players have the best experience possible. The pressure they put upon themselves at the weekend can affect their whole week. Therefore, we want to set up an evening to give them that support and help and open up a communication between everyone who is struggling."
