Women and Girls

Around the website you will find information for everyone about getting involved with football whether playing, volunteering, coaching, refereeing or watching the game. However, this page is a great starting point to find out more about specific women and girls football programmes running in and around Dorset.

Getting started

Whether you are a parent looking for football opportunities on behalf of your child, or a player yourself looking to make that first move to get involved there are a number of ways you can get started:

Girls Go for Goal – is an initiative run by Dorset FA in partnership with the FA Tesco Skills team aimed at girls in Primary School, click here for more information.

The FA Skills Coaches are out and about in schools around the county coaching 5-11 year old girls and boys, they also run a holiday course programme, FA Skills Centres and get involved with supporting grassroots clubs and coaches. To find out more about how you can get involved click here.

If you would like to search for a club to join in the county, we have a Find a Club search engine which is updated with details of every club who affiliates to the Football Association. Alternatively, contact Chris Dear via chris.dear@dorsetfa.com or telephone 01202 688277.
