Getting started

Whether you are a parent looking for football opportunities on behalf of your child, or a player yourself looking to make that first move to get involved there are a number of ways you can get started:

The FA Skills Coaches are out and about in schools around the county coaching 5-11 year old girls and boys, they also run a holiday course programme, FA Skills Centres and get involved with supporting grassroots clubs and coaches. To find out more about how you can get involved click here.

Women’s Small-Sided Football – a programme is currently running at Dorchester Sports Centre (formally Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre) on a Sunday 4-6pm through the summer on the 3G artificial surface. The sessions are turn up and play (£2 per player) and open to anyone aged 16+ for more information click here.

If you would like to search for a club to join in the county we have a Find a Club search engine which is updated with details of every club who affiliates to the Football Association.
