Dorset Weetabix wildcats: Have fun, make friends, play football.

Wildcats Centres provide girls aged 5-11 years with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls. There are currently 1,600 Wildcats Centres across England, with The FA's aim for 2024 to have double this number of Wildcats Centres across the Country.

Weetabix Food Company and The Football Association [The FA] have partnered to encourage the nation to embrace healthy choices through their new 'Eat Well, Live Well, Play Well' initiative. The partnership see's the nation's favourite cereal become lead partner of Wildcats and the Official Breakfast Category Partner of the England Women's and Men's Senior Teams.

The sessions take place on a weekly basis, either after school or at weekends, subject to the local organiser. They provide a safe environment where girls can come together to have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

Each Wildcats Centre is run in conjunction with local County FAs and utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

Wildcats has been running in Dorset since 2017 when we started with three centres.

Success stories in Dorset include Dorchester Town Youth now running four girls teams, Dexter Sports offering two girls teams and Poole Town Youth, one of our first centres, now offering two girls teams at the club.

Wildcats is a great way of starting up or developing the girls game at your club with The FA providing funding, training, kit and equipment packs to clubs involved in the programme.
