Young Coach Academy Launch

The launch of the new Dorset County FA Young Coaches Academy took place on Wednesday 23rd January at the Dorset County FA Headquarters.

Following an application process twenty three young aspiring coaches aged between 16-25 attended the County launch which has been designed to help young people achieve their full potential.

Young Coaches were introduced to the England DNA by County Coach Developer, Martin Dighton. The session then moved outside where Martin delivered a session designed to develop a deeper understanding of the development of players in order to play the game. Each Young Coach then worked in groups to plan and deliver a session of their own.

The Dorset Young Coaches Academy has been introduced to support the development of young coaches to strengthen our volunteer workforce. Each participant will receive the opportunity to attend 4 coaching workshops, coaching bursaries and a t-shirt.

Our next Coach Development Sessions will take place on the following days:

  • FA Skills 5-11 years old: Wednesday 16th March, 6-9pm at Poole High School, Wimborne Road, BH15 2BW
  • Introduction to Disability Football and Futsal:  Wednesday 6th April, 10-4pm at Everyone Active Rossmore Leisure Centre
