Disability Football

Dorset FA supports a number of disability activities across the County to help provide activities for disabled people to engage in grassroots football and disability talent pathway where appropriate.

On the Ball with Mental Health

Dorset FA are currently working with Dorset Mental Health Forum to create turn up and play football opportunities to promote fun and exercise within a social, welcoming environment.

Dorset Ability Counts League

This pan-disability league runs on a home and away fixtures and currently supports adult male teams to engage in competition on a regular basis. There are 2 divisions to help ensure appropriate ability banding and as the league continues to grow there are hopes to develop a female and junior division. The league website can be found here.

DSActive Football

As an advocate for the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome, Dorset Football Association in partnership with Longfleet Youth FC have launched DSActive Football provision in Poole. We are currently running monthly sessions for young people aged 5+ (split into junior and 16+ sessions). For more information, click here.

Powerchair Football

Wessex Warriors PFC is the first powerchair football club to be set up within the area of Dorset and Dorset FA are really excited to be able to share it with you. Our training sessions are held at Victoria Education Centre every first Saturday of the month and we encourage anyone with any form of physical disability to attend. Youth Football

Dorset FA are currently supporting 3 local football clubs to set up U16 teams with the view to starting an U16s Ability Counts League to feed into the Adult section.

SEN Schools Football
Dorset FA are looking to work with an number of secondary schools and colleges in Dorset, to organise a School's League.

FA Coaching Disabled Footballers course
To help support coaches to ensure that their sessions are inclusive for all, whether working with a disabled or mainstream team, each year Dorset FA hosts an FA Coaching Disabled Footballers course. This is a fantastic insight for coaches with a (minimum) Level 1 coaching badge to develop their skills further, details of courses can be
