Today the Dorset County Football Association administers over twenty competitions each season, this number rises and falls to reflect the many areas and age bands of football played in the County.
There are three main areas of County Cup Competitions, Adult (Saturday and Sunday), Boys and Girls.
Most seasons bring their fair share of proposed Rule changes, the Dorset County Cup Competitions have been no exception.
From time to time the criteria for entering a specific County Cup Competition are changed to reflect the current playing strength of the leagues in which clubs compete. This may mean for example that a club who has played for many seasons in the Saturday Junior Cup is required to enter the Saturday Intermediate Cup.
All Dorset affiliated clubs have to enter their first team in the appropriate County Cup Competition, with the exception of the Dorset Senior Cup Competition, where clubs may pay an exemption fee if they wish to. Beyond a clubs first team, any other adult team that a club has are able to enter their appropriate Cup Competition if they so wish.
Our County Cup Draws are now published (click here to view).
Girls' Competitions will be published in due course.
Due to the low number of entries in the Dorset Sunday Senior Cup, Round One of this Competition will take place on 2 December 2012, the draw being on 30 October 2012.
A County Cup ‘Player Eligibility List’ will be available at the start of the season which will help prevent players dropping down to play in Competitions too far below the level they play on a Saturday and vice versa on Sunday’s.
A full set of the Rules of the Dorset County Competitions will be published on this page when available for the 2012/13 Season.
