Starting a new club or team

This article will give you or the information you need with regard to forming a new club.

The first matter to decide when forming a new team is which League you are going to enter, a list of local football Leagues can be found under the League pages here.

When you have been interviewed by the relevant football League you will then be required to affiliate to us as your parent County Football Association.  It is important that you are aware of the division your team is likely to be entered into if you are an adult club as this will determine the level of your affiliation.  Most new clubs would start towards the bottom of the League they are entering but this is not always the case.  Youth Clubs affiliation is slightly different and all Clubs would affiliate under the Youth heading either at County Youth (U18), Youth (11-16), Girls’ or Mini-Soccer.

When you have been accepted into the League, we will send you an affiliation pack, which should be completed in full and returned to the County Office by 1 June in the current season.  Please remember that Public Liability Insurance must be purchased through the County and Personal Accident Insurance must also be provided, although a scheme of your choice can be used for this rather than the County Option.

A statement of accounts should be provided in your 2nd season of Affiliation and these should be sent with your affiliation paperwork in the 2nd season.

For any information on new clubs or Leagues which you can enter, please contact Alex Rush-Fear on 01202 688271 or Colin Chainey on 01202 688275.

We look forward to hearing from you.
