Clubs and Leagues

Setting up or running a Football Club, can only happen through the dedication and hard work of the many individuals who volunteer their time ! This part of the website is dedicated to providing those who help run grassroots football Clubs in the County; with information and support that will assist you and your Club.

Football and the County have a long and proud history (this year 2012 celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Association) as you would expect from a County so passionate about the game! The County is in a unique position, in that it is only one of a handful of Counties in the Country in which all of our member Clubs are at grassroots/non-league level of the Football Pyramid.

From mini-soccer clubs that provide a platform that supports the development and enjoyment of our very youngest players, to the adult game which spans across small-sided football, amateur, and semi pro. Grassroots football in the County will thrive because of several influencing factors - but the main one being the hard work and dedication of the Football Family to help run a successful grassroots game.

There are currently 199 member clubs that facilitate over 848 teams which make up the membership of Dorset County FA, each of whom are involved in regular league football. In addition, there are also hundreds of other teams registered at several FA/CFA affiliated small sided football centres across the County.

Irrespective of whether you are seeking to set up a club for the first time or would like guidance and assistance in how to develop your Club; we are on hand to support you!
