Dorset Coaches take on Technique!

11:35 AM, Tuesday, 02 February 10.

Steve Rutter - FA Coach Education Manager, led coaches through a workshop looking at how technique practices can be brought into the 21st Century, and have more relevance to the modern game.  Sunday 31st January 2010; saw the Gryphon Leisure Centre, Sherborne host the workshop; with 21 coaches (of all different qualifications and experience) from all over the County (and beyond) attending.

A thought provoking class room session commenced the day. The work then moved out onto the pitch for some warm up sessions and review. After lunch; the group developed running with the ball and defending practices on the pitch; under the guidance of Steve.

A summary and informative discussion on the future of Coach Education brought the day to a close.

Comments of some of those attending the day include:
‘The day was extremely thought provoking for the coaches!’
‘Steve’s content and manner of delivery were fantastic – more please.’
‘Very good day, suited all levels of coach – from full time Academy to grassroots coaching!’

We would like to extend a big thank you to Steve for carrying out the workshop; and also to all those attending!
