What your Welfare Officer needs for 2010/11 season!

1:52 PM, Friday, 08 January 10.

The Dorset FA would like to remind clubs with youth and Under 18 teams that from the beginning of the 2010/11 season you will need a Welfare Officer who has attended a Welfare Officer Workshop.

We are aware that a number of clubs have a Welfare Officer who hasn’t yet attended this course. If this is the case at the start of next season the club will not be able to affiliate. With this in mind we recommend that any Club Welfare Officer yet to attend this course enrol as soon as possible. The Dorset FA has recently scheduled a Welfare Officer Workshop for Thursday 10th June 2010 at DCFA Offices in Hamworthy

Cost of the Workshop will be £25, and the session will run for 3 hours, from 18.30 to 21.30.

A Welfare Officer will therefore need to have met the following criteria before a club with youth teams can affiliate for the 2010/11 season:
• Attended a Welfare Officer Workshop
• Hold a Safeguarding Children Course certificate
• Hold an FA CRB certificate

If you have any queries regarding this process or would like to discuss it further please contact Dorset FA Welfare Officer, Louise Butcher on 07903 574700 or email Louise.butcher@dorsetfa.com
