Dorset County FA’s Coaches Association in-service training programme put on a workshop giving members the opportunity to gain an insight into the UEFA B Coaching Award.
The workshop took place on Tuesday 13th March 2007. The workshop was led by Alan Gillett, FA Regional Coach Development Manager, who was assisted by John Godbold, one of our FA Coach Educators.
The Coaches Association is committed to providing in-service training to those coaches throughout the County that are looking to enhance their existing knowledge of the game.
The workshop, themed ‘An introduction into Level 3 (UEFA B) Coaching’ provided coaches with an idea of the work involved throughout this senior coaching award.
The 32 coaches, ranged from recently qualified Level 1 Coaches, through to coaches currently undertaking the award; all looking for the added edge when working with high level youth/senior players.
After some brief theory work looking at the coaching process, the main part of the evening involved practically demonstrating the types of practice used at this level.
We were very grateful to Poole Town Youth (FA Charter Standard Club) who provided the players to participate in the practices. They worked extremely well, and gained some extra insight into their roles within the team.
