National Goalkeeping Coach Visits Dorset

On Thursday 28 September 2006, we were thrilled that Tony Parks (National Goalkeeping Coach) was able to deliver a workshop to our grassroots coaches from throughout the County.

The workshop was extremely well attended, with 78 coaches from Charter Standard Clubs and local Coaches Association attending.

The workshop focussed on the technical aspect of goalkeeping and incorporated around 20 practices that will enable the Club Coach to impact on their goalkeepers.

All those attending agreed that the night was excellent and well worth attending!

Some other comments included:

‘The delivery by Tony Parks was fantastic. As a non-goalkeeper I found it informative, well presented and practical. I thank the County FA for the organisation of it.’

‘I thought the workshop was excellent and Tony made the evening easy to understand and absorb all the information. It was nice to have a workshop focussing on goalkeeping. Hope there is more in the future.’

‘Well done on a great Course. I am now very interested in pursuing the FA Level 1 and Level 2 Goalkeeper coaching awards.’

‘Arguably the best workshop yet! Very clear with the delivery, and brought an element of fun. Goalkeepers are the forgotten member of a team at times, and this will certainly enhance my knowledge and I will pass onto others. Many thanks.’
