New Ideas for Female Coaches

A workshop catering solely for female coaches in Dorset took place on Wednesday 4 April 2007 at Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre, Dorchester.

The session provided new ideas to the 12 female coaches in attendance
who all currently hold their Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football.

FA Regional Coach Development Manager, Alan Gillett led the session and provided a mixture of technical and game related practices. The session finished with modified small sided games utilising safety zones and overloads.

FA Charter Standard Community Club - Weymouth FC made available their Under 14 girls team, who currently compete in the Dorset Girls League 14 Section 1. The players and officials from the Club expressed their thanks to Alan and Dorset County FA for the session; that they thoroughly enjoyed.

All female coaches who attended have now been signposted to future events throughout the County and are offered ongoing support in obtaining awards through the DCFA Coaches Association.
