DCFA Coaches Association

If you have achieved a recognised FA Coaching Qualification, why not join the Dorset County FA Coaches Association - to keep you informed and enhance your existing knowledge of modern day coaching!

The Vision of the Association is 'to enhance the knowledge, skills and personal development of Coaches in Dorset through the provision of information, training, coaching opportunities, the exchange of ideas and good practice. 

The Association now boasts around 95 members and continues to offer opportunities to qualified coaches as part of their professional development, including:

  • The opportunity to attend FA Safeguarding Children (formerly known as Child Protection) and FA Emergency Aid workshops free of charge 
  • 18 coaches participating in a Futsal Workshop with FA Tutor Kevin Barr
  • 22 coaches at workshop focussing on the transition from small sided to 11 v11 football
  • 67 coaches attending player development evening with John Allpress (FA National Coach) and Craig Simmons (FA Player Development Adviser)
  • 41 Coaches attend an in-service event led by The FA Skills team focussing on working with the 5-11 age group
  • 26 Coaches attending a workshop looking at formations and systems of play delivered by Alan Gillett (Regional Coach Development Manager) 
  • 27 Coaches attend in-service event with Coerver Coaching led by National and Regional Representatives
  • 26 Coaches attend Goalkeeping Workshop with National Coach-Keith Rees

The benefits for Coaches to join the Association are:

  • Newsletter sent to members, which includes information on improving coaching technique, new coaching practices, ideas from other coaches, up to date information on events and courses in Dorset and much more.
  • A copy of the Dorset County Football Association Education Brochure automatically sent to members annually.
  • Free places on In-Service training Workshops held locally and aimed at meeting the needs of coaches involved in grassroots football.
  • Discount on Coach Education Courses
  • You also get the opportunity to be included in a Dorset Coaches' Directory; which is sent to organisations/clubs that request qualified Coaches.

The Cost of Membership of the Association is only £10 per year or £15 if you require an exclusivey branded Umbro t shirt, so if you would like to join please complete the application form (see related documents) or contact the development office.

Please note that from 1st January 2008, in line with best practice, all DCFA members must hold a valid FA Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
