Could your club do with an extra sports volunteer to help assist coach a football team this season 2010/11?
As part of their Sports Degree (Sports Development & Coaching Science and Sports Psychology and Coaching Science) at Bournemouth University the second year sports students are required to undertake a number of voluntary coaching hours within the local sporting community.

Therefore we are looking for Junior Football Clubs (in and around the Bournemouth and Poole area) who would like an additional assistant coach/ volunteer to help support the head coach of a junior team.

Prior to volunteering the students will have completed an enhanced CRB check through The FA, undertaken practical based coaching sessions, attended Health and Safety Workshop and various coaching workshops. Additionally a number of students may already hold or will be working towards a National Governing Body qualification, and have attended other relevant sports coaching workshops.

Students will be allocated placements in early October 2010 and are expected to complete a minimum of one volunteering session per week from November through until the end of March 2011 (or the equivalent of approx 20 hours).
If your Club would be interested and could accommodate a student sports volunteer please get in touch for further details of the placement requirements. Contact Lynda Challis at lchallis@bournemouth.ac.uk.
