Dorset Under 18 Youth Team
The Dorset County Football Association has appointed Jamie Murray (left) as Manager of the Dorset County Youth Under 18 team. Following a his playing career Jamie had been Manager of his home town team Blandford United for some years.
Jamie will be assisted in his role by Alistair Telford.
In the First Round of the FA County Youth Cup Competition Dorset have been drawn away to Sussex, the match is scheduled to be played on 7 November 2009. This season Dorset have three group matches, against Cornwall, Somerset & Wiltshire.
Dorset Under 16 Youth Team
After three years as Assistant Manager of the Under 16 team, Gary Head has now stepped up to take charge of the team for the forthcoming season.
The Under 16 Section of the South & West Counties Championship Competition is proving to be very popular amongst its member counties, with eight teams comprising of Berks/Bucks, Gloucestershire, Gwent, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset & Wiltshire competing this season.
Dorset Under 18 Women’s Team
Robbie Yates will continue to act as Manager of the Dorset Under 18 Women’s team. Robbie now works full time for the Dorset County Football Association. Part of Robbie’s role with the DCFA is acting as Director of the Dorset Girls Centre of Excellence, a position which should assist him in his role as Manager of the Under 18 Women’s team.
Dorset have three Competition matches against Cornwall, Devon & Wiltshire.
Dorset Women’s Team
Dorset will be hosting trials for a Dorset Women’s team/Coaching Centre, with a view to entering a team in the South & West Counties Championship Competition in the near future.
Mark Rogers has agreed to Manage the team assisted by Tim Davis, details of the trials will be sent to clubs and selected players in due course.
