FA Focus Schools

The FA have recently launched an exciting initiative within Education; the Focus Schools programme will replace Charter Standard Schools from September 08.

The advantage of working with fewer schools is that we can increase the quality and delivery within these Schools, while making the programme more sustainable and monitored against specific targets set by the County FA and the School.

As part of the way forward, Club Link schools who are committed to developing sustainable links with FA Charter Standard Clubs and additional football opportunities within schools will receive equipment bags and access to England tickets along with a certificate to show they are an FA Club Links School for that year.

So, in essence, The FA and CFAs will continue to support 1,000 schools a year. This will come into effect from 1st September 2008.

The FA and County FA remains committed to supporting PE and sport in schools with the new National Game Strategy identifying the following core areas:
• Club Links
• Schools competitions
• ESFA four-year Strategic Plan
• Leadership and Volunteering Programme
• Continued Professional Development.
