Grassroots Capital Grants

The Football Foundation are a tremendous supporter of grassroots football - could they help to develop your facilities?

What is the maximum grant available?

The maximum grant available from the Foundation for each facilities project is £1m.

They decide how much grant to give your project based on all the circumstances of the project, but you must try to get funding from all your other organisations first. The target level of funding for all projects should be 50%, however higher percentages will be considered if the need can be demonstrated.

It is also possible to attach revenue funding to deliver football development associated with the new facility e.g. coaching, football development officer etc. The maximum development funding that can be included with a facilities grant is 20% of the total grant awarded.

You must show you have tried hard to get other funding for your project and that there is no further funding available.

Who can apply?

The Foundation welcomes applications from football clubs, multi-sport clubs, local authorities, all educational establishments, registered charitable organisations, not for profit companies limited by guarantee, industrial and provident societies and unincorporated not for profit organisations.

Important information:

Your application will not be considered if you start work or appoint a contractor before a project is approved. However, if you are given  permission in writing beforehand, they may still be able to consider your application.

If you are considering a project it is essential that you contact Gary Knight on either 01202 688278 or gary.knight@dorsetfa.com to discuss your project. A key part of the support from the County FA is in the completion of a football development plan, please see related documents for the form and an example.  You should complete the Football Foundation online 'Expression of Interest' form (see related links) and you will then be contacted to arrange a meeting to discuss the options available to you.
