The programme has been expanded so that there are now 106 specialist skills coaches who deliver age appropriate practices with the focus of raising technical standards in children aged 5-11years whilst also encouraging more active and healthy lifestyles.
The four full-time Skills Coaches in Dorset operate in a variety of work areas to try and achieve this aim, working within schools, Charter Standard clubs, at Holiday Courses and FA Skills Centres.
For further information and reaction to our work within each strand of the Skills Programme please click on the relevant Tab. Detailed within each area is what work within that particular strand entails and how to become involved.
Alongside the aim of raising the standard of play amongst our participants a further aim is to also help develop those involved with football delivery. As such the Tab entitled Skills Monthly is a resource for those wishing to expand their knowledge of player/football development or some practical ideas on how, why and what to coach. This section displays articles written by the Dorset Skills Coaches giving an insight into coaching 5-11 year olds with suitable age-appropriate session ideas for coaches to use with their teams.
