Monday 27th April 2009 saw Dorset County FA host their annual Girls Centre of Excellence Presentation Evening at Purbeck School, Wareham.
The guest of honour for the evening was England and Everton Number One – Rachel Brown.
The packed audience on the evening, compiled of Centre of Excellence Players, along with their Parents and Guardians; who have supported them (home and away) throughout the Centre’s first full-time Season!
The evening began with an introduction from Sue Hough (Dorset FA Chief Executive), highlighting the glorious playing and coaching career of Rachel, culminating in the World Cup.
The players representing the County within the Girls Centre of Excellence programme, all received a Certificate from Rachel, and then posed for a team photograph.
The Players Player of the Year award followed for all four age groups. As a drum role filled the hall; Rachel revealed the winners.
At the conclusion of formal proceedings two of the Under 10 age group from the Centre of Excellence presented Rachel with a shirt signed by all the players, and also a glass memento.
Following this, Rachel posed for photographs and signed autographs for the hoards of people looking for a memento of the evening.
Dorset FA would like to thank Rachel for attending. A great night was had by all, and was a fitting tribute to the Girls Centre of Excellence Season 2008-09.
