Beaucroft 5-a-side Competition
Monday 19th October 2009 saw Beaucroft Special School host the first football festival of the season, with a 5-a-side competition for under-16 MLD boys. Five teams competed in a round robin stage (Beaucroft, Linwood A, Linwood B, Westfield and Winchelsea), with the top two teams contesting the final. Linwood B were awarded the 'fair play' award for the event with Beaucroft coming out the eventual winners of the competition beating Westfield in the final.
Girls Festival
Wednesday 25th November 2009 saw the first Special Schools Girls Festival with 26 girls from four schools in attendance. The festival was played on a friendly basis with the girls joining with other schools to form teams, unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions the day was cut short with only half of the intended games being played, however, all of the girls played at least three games.
