1st4sport First Aid for Sport

This relatively new Course has been developed in partnership with the FA’s Medical and Exercise Science Department and is awarded by 1st4sport Qualifications. It can be used as a stepping stone between the FA Emergency Aid Course and the Level 2 Certificate in the Treatment and Management of Injury in Football.

By the end of the Course you will be able to:
- Describe the duties, responsibilities, general treatment principles and priorities of first aid provision
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic anatomy and physiology in relation to first aid
- Describe the elements of pre-event preparation in relation to first aid provision
- Provide logical on-field player initial assessment and appropriate use of barriers and infection control
- Recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of common illnesses
- Recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of common injuries

To be eligible for this Course all candidates must hold a current FA Emergency Aid Certificate, or equivalent, offered by an approved body such as The Health & Safety Executive, St John Ambulance, British Red Cross, and attend an FA Safeguarding Children Workshop.
