Canford Park Arena once again played host to the annual Dorset County FA Charter Standard Mini Soccer Festival on Saturday 5th September 2009.
The aim of the Festival was to thank and reward the County’s Charter Standard Clubs for maintaining and indeed exceeding the standards demanded by The FA Awards.
The non-competitive Festival was open to all Under 8 Mini Soccer teams, as a prelude to their Season kicking off the following week!
A total of 14 teams participated in the Festival:

Attending the day also were the team of FA Skills Coaches, who led players and through FA Skills Challenges when not playing. The Festival was officiated by newly recruited officials and a number of established Referees from the County’s thriving Academy who officiated to the usual high standard.
In a new twist to the day, spot prizes were given out to teams/individuals by DCFA staff for any manner of good play and sportsmanship. Each team were also able to nominate another from their group to receive a Fair Play Award. These medals were duly awarded to Corfe Mullen United Juniors A (Group A) and Longfleet Youth FC (Group B).
A large crowd attended, adding to the atmosphere of the day; which was a great start to the Season for those attending!
