DCFA Benevolent Fund

"HOW IT WORKS"

In order that the Fund can perform its valuable work it is essential that it is supported by competitions, clubs, referees, and others interested in football. Such voluntary assistance - there is no compulsion - is appreciated at all times, whatever the amount, and all donations are acknowledged by official receipt. Donations should be sent to the Chief Executive.

If a player is injured whilst playing in a match between properly registered clubs, or with a service team, and he/she is likely to be incapacitated from his employment, procedure is as under:-

1. Honorary Secretary of player's club, having ascertained that player is, or may be in necessitous circumstances through the injury, should apply to the Association for application form.

2. Application form must by completed by Club Secretary and player, and be endorsed by Chairman of Club. All information asked for must be given and care must be exercised in the matter of player's income when in employment, and amounts received whilst incapacitated, from all sources. A doctor's certificate clearly stating nature of injury and probable period of incapacitation must accompany each application. The Fund Committee reserves the right to make any necessary enquiry concerning an application.

3. Every application is promptly considered by the Fund Committee, in strict confidence, and grants are made where considered necessary, to assist applicants during periods of incapacitation.
